With threats of Snowquester now looming over DC and temperatures that can barely seem to keep themselves above freezing (or at least feeling that way), biking to work might be the last thing you’re thinking about right now. But spring is on the way, and if you’re like me, one of the great things about spring is being able to comfortably ride around the city. I know folks who don’t like to bike in DC, but I personally think it’s one of the best ways to get around in a city that routinely competes with L.A. for work traffic in the United States.
If you are a bike commuter (or thinking about becoming one) registration opened today for the DC metro area Bike to Work Day. Registration is FREE and means that you can stop at any of the pit stops that are set up around the city that day for snacks, tshirts, and to hang with fellow bike commuters. The website also features ways to get the rest of your workplace (or family & friends) involved in Bike to Work Day, as well as lots of tips and info for anyone who might be new to bike commuting.
