Weclome to fall in DC – my personal favorite season, and on most days (read: not today) the best time of the year to be outdoors.
There’s plenty of outdoor events taking place this weekend and next to let you take advantage of that, and among them is DC Veg Fest. A friend of mine invited me over the weekend, and after checking out the website, I’m pretty excited (and, as you may or may not have figured out, I’m not even an actual vegetarian!) Regardless of whether you go vegan, vegetarian, or just try not to eat meat one or two days a week, eating less meat is one of the ways we often talk about to reduce your impact on the environment. This event is held at Yards Park in SE and is sponsored by the Vegetarian Society of DC. Entry is free, and the event includes speakers and a wide range of exhibitors that include nonprofits, bakeries, candy-makers, household product companies, and even one of my favorites, No Meat Athlete (which I’ve previously posted about). There should be some awesome (and healthy) food vendors, and a limited number of goody bags are promised to those who come early.
Information & FAQ’s are on the event website, which is linked above.
