Well, people, it’s been a rough week here on the east coast. There were at least three major disasters, including an earthquake, a hurricane, and the fact that I, Pam, had to spend the week in Trenton.
But never fear! There are always some good crunchy things going on, and I thought this might be a good time to give a shout-out to one of my very most favoritest environmental blogs, Lazy Environmentalist, and a new trick they’ve got up their sleeves. They’re getting plenty of press on this, but it’s a great tool so I thought I’d join in the fray.
The good guide toolbar is a downloadable add-on to your favorite web browser that makes it easy to shop your values online. For any website you’re using, you can instantly check up on how they rank in terms of a whole list of values, including things like fair trade, organic products, recycled materials use, labor/human rights issues, and a host of other matters of importance. While none of us want to clutter up our desktops, but this one just might be worth it. Reviews have been solid across the board, including what the Sierra Club had to say about it:
