People of Earth!
What’s that in your teeth? No, on the other side. Okay let me see, yeah you got it.
Now, where were we? Oh yes! Welcome to Spinach In Our Teeth, the online hub of all green things to chew on. We noticed not too long ago that environment and energy news and analysis was being drowned out by NFL lockouts, debt ceilings and pop stars who died too soon. We thought, what about the public debates about energy development, water policy and endangered species? How did climate change lose all momentum? And what’s up with the offensive on those pesky environmental regulating agencies?
These are some of the questions we’ll take up right here, and loads more. We’re accustomed to heated debates about earthy things, usually in our Google Chat windows. So we figured why not bring them public, and hopefully bring in some new voices too!
About us: we love the planet, but aren’t quite granola-munching treehuggers. We’re all environmental grad students who do the reading. And we walk the walk, too. Some of us have worked in industry, others in media, and others yet in policy. So we know a little about what’s what. And we all live in Washington DC, the city devoid of science that we think could use a good eco revival.
So drop by every so often. We’d love to have you, and may even make you some quinoa.
Oh, and one more thing. We love puns. You’ll notice several features of the blog, including our Balanced Greens of other environmental sites we love, and Our Favorite Munchies of all things we think are worth your time. Every so often we’ll have a Pot Luck, where we excerpt some of the best voices around the web. See what we mean? So apologies in advance for the truly bad ones.
But for now, stick a fork in us, we’re done. Now onto the good stuff.
